The Seminar for Preservation and Production of Guangxi-ASEAN Medicinal Plant Resources Was Successfully Held in Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants

On the afternoon of June 21th,2015, the seven-day seminar for Preservation and Production of Guangxi-ASEAN Medicinal Plant Resources Seminar brought to a close in Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants. H.E.Mr.Wu Zhendou, deputy head of International Cooperation Department, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM), Mr.Peng Yuegang, vice commissioner  of Guangxi Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine(GATCM), Mr. Liu Qin, director of International Cooperation Department, SATCM, Mr. Liang Jingxu, party secretary of Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants(GBGMP), vice director of the Department of Chinese Ethnic Medicine Development, GATCM , made their appearances on the ceremony. Mr. Peng Yong, deputy director of GBGMP, director of China-ASEAN (Guangxi) Traditional Medicine Exchange and Cooperation Center (CATMECC) presided over the closing ceremony.

In address, Mr. Wu expressed the congratulations on the successful completion of the seminar. He hoped that this training course can be new beginning for China and ASEAN country’s cooperation. Mr. Peng Yuegang also delivered his Excellency’s expectation that this seminar can serve as a stimulus to enhance the two side’s friendship, further deepen and expand the mutual communication and cooperation the traditional medicine. Representatives from Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar respectively made their own remarks, expressing their gratitude for the hospitality they received here and expecting more opportunities to learn from each other.

After the ceremony, the trainees planted a tree in Guangxi Botanical Garden of Medicinal Plants, symbolizing the long lasting friendship between and ASEAN countries.
